Celebrated Gudi Padwa 2023

Students of Guru Nanak College of Education and Research (Bhandup) celebrated Gudi Padwa in the college. This celebration was done along with all the faculty members. It was first addressed by the Principal of the College and later on by the teachers. It was hosted by the students from S.Y.B.Ed. The inaugural speech was given by the hosts. Also, they mentioned the importance of celebrating this festival.

Later the Gudi was hoisted by the faculty member and students of the college. The Gudi Dvaja (a saree or piece of cloth garlanded with flowers, mango and neem leaves, sugar crystal garland called gathi, topped with upturned silver or copper vessels) was hoisted at the entrance of the class. Once the gudi got hoisted, all the faculty members, teaching and non-teaching staff along with students, performed the rituals and later did a lazim dance as a token of celebration.

One of the student from S.Y.B.Ed. delivered a speech on the importance of the festival and the resemblance of the materials that is used while hoisting the Gudi. Later the event was concluded with a vote of thanks note.
