Occasion: National Librarian Day Celebration
On the auspicious occasion of National Librarian Day, the Department of B.Ed. at Guru Nanak College of Education and Research organized a special event for the SY B.Ed. students. The event was made possible under the permission of I/C Principal Dr. Aradhana Gokhale Mam and organised by Librarian Mrs. Bhavana Kadam.
It was designed to honour the invaluable contributions of librarians and to encourage students to develop a profound appreciation for the world of books and knowledge.
Speech Competition:
A speech competition was held, where students were given a few topics related to librarianship and the significance
of libraries. Participants were expected to deliver a 3-minute speech on their chosen topic, showcasing their public
speaking skills and knowledge of library science.
Judging Panel:
A distinguished panel of judges, comprising the following faculty members, evaluated the speeches:
- Dr. Jyoti Ma’am
- Dr. Bushra Ma’am
- Dr. Vaishali Ma’am
Winners:
The judges carefully assessed each participant’s performance based on content, delivery, and overall impact. The
following students were declared the winners of the speech competition:
- First Prize: Ashish Bodke
- Second Prize: Catherine Prabhakaran
- Third Prize: Hasmita Joshi
The event was a resounding success, fostering a deeper understanding of the role of librarians and the importance of
libraries in our lives. It provided a platform for students to express their thoughts and ideas, while also honing their
public speaking skills.
