International Day of Yoga or commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on June 21 since its inception in 2015. Yoga is a physical, mental, and/ or spiritual practice attributed mostly to India. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his UN Address suggested the date of June 21, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares special significance in many parts of the world. Many schools, colleges, government offices and private firms celebrated this day with great enthusiasm.
Our college, Guru Nanak College Of Education And Research, Bhandup (West), organized Yoga day on 7th July, 2016. The event took place in the audio visual (AV) room of the college. All the students along with the faculty members and the Principal participated actively to make it a success.
