B.Ed. Program

Guru Nanak College of Education and Research, with Punjabi Linguistic Minority status, affiliated to the University of Mumbai, was established in 1990. B. Ed. is a professional teacher’s education program for students who aspire to become teachers in secondary school and junior college.

From 2015-16 the B.Ed. program is two years with four semesters. The intake capacity of the B.Ed. program is 50+ 50 The program has theory and practicum component for each semester.

Admission : Eligibility

The eligibility for the program is graduation from any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks for open category and 45% for reserved category, and 55% for other than state university students. For admission the candidates need to pass CET conducted by the University which is held online.

Campus Interviews

The College facilitates Campus Interviews by several schools to provide placement services to students. The schools catering to SSC, ICSE, CBSC, etc curricula come for placements. The school representatives make a presentation highlighting the different facilities offered by the school and the benefits to employees. Students give a demonstration of lessons in their chosen methods after which they appear for a formal interview. Both the school personnel as well as students are very grateful for this placement service.

Training in SmartBoard

The students are given comprehensive training in the use of smartboard. They are guided to make lesson plans and present them on the smartboard and powerpoint presentations

Competitions

Various competitions are held to develop the talents of the students such as dance, elocution, poster making, Mehendi, rangoli, preparing instruction material. The College encourages the student to participate in intercollegiate competitions in various events.
